Maureen O'Hara Biography

Maureen O'Hara, an American actor and singer of Irish heritage, was a well-known figure. The fiery, passionate roles she played in a range of American films were well-loved by the green-eyed beauty with flame-colored hair and eyes. Her stunning look and natural beauty was well-loved. The actress was known in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her character onscreen was a reflection of her brave, strong spirit that fought for recognition and survival in a male-dominated industry. She was referred to as the "tough Irish girl" and refused to compromise her standing or respect to get the roles she won by merit. She stood up to injustices and unjust treatment of female actors throughout her film career and gained a lot if fans. The autobiography she wrote, "Tis herself", was published in 2004 and provided an honest story of her entire experience, as well as her struggles in her climb to achieve success. She was an adventurous woman who was not afraid to perform her own stunts. She starred in over 60 films and was a star all around the globe. Following her departure from Parra She remarried in the year 1968 to Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a former brigadier, former chief pilot, and a pioneer in transatlantic aviationto mention just a few of her accomplishments. She finally retired after couple of years of marriage. However, her happiness was not long-lasting since Blair died in a tragic plane crash in the year 1978. She was also diagnosed with uterine cancer in the same year. She was treated for it and then had an immediate surgery. She recovered eventually. She suffered from six heart attacks, short-term memory loss, and diabetes type 2 in the subsequent years. On the 24th of October, 2015, O'Hara passed away peacefully in Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at the age of 95.
