Milena Govich

Milena Govich is an actress also a director, actor, and musician. She has directed numerous episodes of TV that include Chicago Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). Also, she was the Co-EP/Producing Director on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently attached to two pilots in progress. Milena was one of eight filmmakers selected for AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women, as well as the only Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program. The short film she made and the TV series proof of concept called Unspeakable which starred Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober, was screened at its World Premiere at SXSW and won the Best Episodic Award at Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. The short film she made, Temporary (2017) has played across the country and was awarded Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival, Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest as well as the Director's Choice Award at Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor Milena has appeared in more than 100 episodes of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was her first appearance on CBS. She later became the only female detective in Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori Stevens in the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014) have all featured her or featured her in reruns. Milena has been in numerous films such as Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) in which she starred alongside Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and starring opposite Method Man; as well as the role of #Lucky Number (2015). The native of Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was valedictorian in her high school prior to completing an undergraduate degree in both singing and pre-med, with minors in violin and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma, with a valedictorian award at the end of the course. She benefited from her classical ballet education shortly thereafter to stage her Broadway debut in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
